This safari takes you through the highlights of renowned parks of northern Tanzania.
The tour starts at Tarangire, famous for its dense wildlife population then to Ngorongoro crater, which supports a year round resident population of mammals.
A visit to Serengeti follows, a big game haven that hosts over 3 million large mammals.
Finally, we head to Lake Manyara national park, an ornithologists’ paradise known for the elusive tree-climbing lions.
Pick up from Kilimanjaro airport or your hotel if you are joining us after climbing Kilimanjaro.Drive to your hotel in Arusha and check in and drive into Arusha town to explore. Arusha City is situated at the foot of Mount Meru and it is the most famous city as a gateway to the Northern Safari circuit. You will overnight in a hotel in or near to Arusha.
After a delicious breakfast, we departed from Arusha to Tarangire National Park. On the way to Tarangire we saw Maasai villages. Upon arrival at Tarangire National Park, it was everything we expected and more! Let’s just say, be prepared to see a lot of elephants!! The park is famous for its high density of elephants and baobab trees. Then you will reach at Karatu for your overnight stay.
After breakfast, we proceed to Serengeti, Tanzania's oldest and most popular national park and famed for its annual migration, when some six million hooves pound the open plains, as more than 200,000 zebras and 300,000 Thomson's gazelle join the wildebeest’s trek for fresh grazing. Yet even when the migration is quiet, the Serengeti offers a remarkable game-viewing experience. Then you will back to lodge and have a dinner with overnight stay.
We depart for Ngorongoro conservation area, which sits at the rim of the Ngorongoro crater. An afternoon tour of the crater follows. The game drive begins with a 600m descent to the crater floor. The crater supports a year round resident population of a variety of wildlife and you can easily spot lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo and other species of plain animals.
A morning game drive at Ngorongoro. The park covers 330 sq. km, 70% of which is occupied by the lake. The varied ecosystem consists of ground water forests, acacia woodland and open grassland along the lake shore and sustains a wealth of wildlife, including the big five - lion, elephant, leopard, rhino and buffalo. We head back to the lodge for lunch and return to Arusha afterwards.
Should be breakfast in a hotel in Arusha and prepare for a transfer to the airport…
Thank you so much for the amazing trips and for the interesting guides! We loved the vacation that we took last month. It was exactly as we imagined it, and even better! Again their attention to us and the ability to adjust, was remarkable! We highly recommend using Kilimanjaro Dreamers and will use them again on future adventures!!
Kilimanjaro Dreamers is a local safari tour operator based in Arusha, Tanzania. My wife and I went on our first Safari in July 2019, they are super-dependable and trustworthy. It feels really good to be putting money directly into the hands of local companies and not have fat margins skimmed off by middlemen. For me, this is really important.
It's our dream to climb Mount Kilimanjaro and submit on the top of Africa 5895m uhuru peak. We took 7 Days Machame route and it was the best route to climb Mount Kilimanjaro though most of us were never serious trekkers but yes, we had a common thing: Love for nature and trained for 3 months prior to this trip. It's the adventure of a lifetime. Kilimanjaro Dreamers really put their attention to details I can recommend them highly enough!
Thank you once again all at Kilimanjaro Expedition for the unforgettable days! Thomas Jonas for all info, fast responding and arranging. A save feeling to be picked up en brought back at the airport. Thomas, I’ve learned a lot about the country, Kilimanjaro, vegetation and the culture. You’re a great guide and person! Hillary, it was pleasure in the parcs driving around with you and to spot a diversity of beautiful animals so near.
We did the 7-day Lemosho trek and a 4-day safari. It was an absolutely amazing trip. Kilimanjaro Dreamers out did themselves with the best guides, chef and porters. Our guides, Jonas and Hillary, were extremely knowledgeable, professional, personable and capable. We really enjoyed getting to know them throughout the trip.
When it comes to trekking and safari, Tanzania really does have it all. It is the kind of place which experienced safari and trekking hands could easily visit for or five times, but it also makes for a fantastic first-time Safari.
